Blueprint: Plan Your Book
You have an important book idea. You’re ready to write. What’s the best way to start? What comes after that?
The blueprint process, based on The Blueprint for a Nonfiction Book by Jennie Nash, is your path to forward progress.
What it is: One-on-one support to help you create a blueprint for what your book will say and how you will write it.
Zero in on the value you offer readers
Stress-test your argument
Clarify your goals for publication
This is for you if: You’re ready to dive into developing a plan to write your book. You may have notes, or drafts of some pages and chapters. Or a set of ideas that you can’t wait to share with readers.
How it works: After an introductory meeting to establish goals and expectations, we will meet regularly to review your submitted work and track your progress. All meetings will be on Zoom.
We will work on a blueprint for your book, answering such questions as:
Why write this book?
What is your point?
Who is your ideal reader?
What do you promise readers they will get from your book?
I will work with you as you answer these questions and create an outline for your book and sketch out your table of contents.
What you will get: A blueprint for your nonfiction book that you can use to build out a book proposal, complete with answers to the above questions, plus:
A working title for your book
A list of comparable books in the marketplace (so you can see how your idea stacks up)
Draft text for your future book’s cover to tell readers’ what’s inside
